Ask Jimmy Pou
TROY'S QUESTION: "On the Rick 12 string that you play, does it have the 6 or
12 saddle bridge? The reason I ask is that I am looking at getting one and I
have read that the 6 saddle bridge will not intonate properly or stay in tune.
I was wondering what you thought about this? Is the 12 saddle bridge
needed?"
JIMMY: "The 12 string Rickenbacker that we use in the show came with a
stock 6 string bridge saddle. In my experience, we have not had a hard time
tuning the 12 string with a 6 string bridge saddle, so I really don't think that a
12 string bridge saddle is necessary. The Rick that we use is a re-issue by
the way."

CHUCK'S QUESTION: "those cabinets were the source of that great tone. I
was so impressed, that I immediately went out and bought a Tonelab (I'm an
ex-Beatle tribute band George myself). Without giving away too many
secrets, what is your basic Tonelab setting for the early songs. Also, what
vibrato do you use for It's Only Love, it sounded great."
JIMMY: "The Tonelabs are the ticket, you can get all the sounds that you
would from any Vox amp.The amps were just used as props as you noticed.
The basic sound from the Tonelabs was just the basic Vox AC30 sound with
the bass turned way down and that treble sound up. The sound we got for
"It's Only Love" was a sound with tremolo that sounded closest to the
record, we just kept experimenting until we liked what we heard, and then
just programmed it in. I hope that answers your questions."

JANICE'S QUESTION: "Have Sir Paul McCartney and or Ringo Starr ever seen
one of your shows and if so have they commented on it?  I just saw my first
show and was blown away.  If I didn't know any better I would have thought I
was transported back in time...simply fabulous!"
JIMMY: "No, not to my knowledge, I really would have found out if any of
them would ever have seen us. George Martin, their record producer came
to see us in London, England, but that was just me with 3 other guys when I
was involved in a Broadway show called Beatlemania and we were
performing at the Astoria Theater, he was very gracious and a nice guy.
Thank you also for the nice compliments on the band, 1964 (The Tribute), I
agree they are a fabulous group whether I was in the band or not."
